Beck, Mack & Oliver was founded in February 1931 by T. Edmund Beck and Lewis Mack. Later that same year, R. Grant Oliver joined the partnership.

The firm today includes approximately 30 professionals, with eight partners. Since its inception, the firm has remained wholly-owned by its employees.

We manage approximately $3.5 billion in assets on behalf of individuals, trusts, tax-exempt institutions and corporations for over 500 client relationships.

Beck, Mack & Oliver is registered as an Investment Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Investment Advisor's Act of 1940. The firm has no direct or indirect affiliation with any broker, commercial bank, investment banking house or other organization giving investment advice or soliciting securities orders.

The firm's central objective is to preserve and then grow the purchasing power of client capital within the framework of clients' specific requirements. We invest in the securities of companies we believe have sound, long-term fundamentals and have the ability to create shareholder value over time.

Our investment decision process is driven by in-depth fundamental analysis. The goal of this independent research is to develop a unique and differentiated perspective. All members of the portfolio management team collaborate in the decision making process.

High-quality, fixed-income securities are used to generate income and provide low-correlated returns to stocks in a balanced portfolio.

A Commitment to Client Service

Client accounts are fully discretionary. Therefore, particular emphasis is placed on defining and understanding each client's objectives and needs at the onset of the relationship.

We communicate with our clients through regular meetings and portfolio appraisals. Clients also have direct access to their account information through their custodian bank’s website.

The continuity of our professional staff and the relatively small number of relationships we choose to manage are distinguishing characteristics of Beck, Mack & Oliver.
